Privacy Policy

How we handle your information

What we collect when you get in touch, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Effective September 12, 2026

In short

  • What we collect. Your name, email address and phone number and, if you share them, your business name and a revenue range and a savings range for your business. Ranges, not exact figures.
  • Why. So we can give you accurate planning and tax-saving advice that fits your situation, and so we can book your appointments and remind you about them.
  • Your email and phone number are used mainly for appointment reminders.
  • Marketing is minimal. We send occasional emails about our services, only with your consent. You can opt out at any time, and we never sell your information.

01Who we are and what this policy covers

H2 Planning & Solutions Inc. (“H2 Planning”, “we”, “us”) is a Canadian financial-planning firm. Our agreements are governed by the laws of British Columbia, and we work with clients across Canada.

This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and when you contact us, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers this website and the inquiry, application and booking forms connected to it.

We follow the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where it applies, British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). Our emails and text messages follow Canada’s anti-spam law (CASL).

This website is not directed to anyone under the age of majority.

02What we collect

We collect only what we need to have a useful conversation with you and to stay in touch about it.

Information you give us when you fill in a form, book an appointment or write to us:

  • Your name, email address and phone number.
  • Your business or corporation name, if you give it.
  • A revenue range and a savings or retained-earnings range for your business. We ask for ranges, not exact figures.
  • The answers you give on our inquiry or application form.
  • Appointment details, such as the date and time you book.

Information collected automatically. When you visit this website, we collect the usual technical data a website collects: your IP address, browser type, the pages you view, and cookies. See section 07 for how cookies are used.

03Why we collect it

We use your information for five purposes, and nothing else:

  • To understand your situation, including the revenue and savings ranges you give us, well enough to have a relevant and accurate planning conversation with you.
  • To schedule your appointments and remind you about them by email and text message.
  • To send occasional emails about our services, only with your consent and always with a way to unsubscribe.
  • To operate and improve this website.
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

If we ever need your information for a new purpose, we will tell you first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

05How we use your email and phone number

Reminders first. We use your email address and phone number mainly to confirm and remind you about your appointments with us, and to reply when you get in touch.

Minimal marketing. We may send occasional emails about H2 Planning’s services. Every one has an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. We use text messages for appointment reminders, not for marketing.

Text messages (SMS). If you give us your mobile number we may text you to confirm and remind you about appointments and to reply to you. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase. Message frequency varies with your own activity, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help.

Your mobile number is not shared for marketing. We do not sell, rent or share your mobile number with third parties for their own marketing. It goes only to the service providers who deliver our messaging and scheduling for us, under contract. Our full terms are in the Terms of Service.

Never sold. We never sell your email address, phone number or any other personal information. We share it only as described in section 06.

06Who we share it with

We share your information only in these cases:

  • Service providers who work for us under contract. A CRM and scheduling platform (GoHighLevel) stores our contact records and sends appointment reminders by email and text. A hosting company runs the website. Each provider may use your information only to provide its service to us.
  • Advertising and font platforms. Meta (Facebook and Instagram) receives technical data through its pixel so it can measure our ads, and Google receives a font request from your browser when a page loads. Each handles that data under its own privacy policy, not ours; section 07 explains how to limit it.
  • Our own advisors. The advisors on our team who work with you.
  • Professionals on your file. Where your planning requires it and you agree, we share relevant information with the professionals working on your file: your accountant, your lawyer, or our advanced planning partners at TruStone Financial Inc.
  • Where the law requires it. For example, to respond to a lawful request from a regulator or a court.

Storage outside Canada. Some of these providers store and process data outside Canada, including in the United States. While your information is there, it is subject to the laws of that country, and the courts, law-enforcement and regulatory authorities there may be able to access it.

07Cookies and advertising

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This site uses them in these ways:

  • Advertising. We run ads on Facebook and Instagram. Meta’s pixel on this site may set cookies so that Meta can tell us whether our ads led to a visit or an inquiry. Meta’s handling of that data is covered by Meta’s own privacy policy.
  • Analytics-type data. We look at technical data such as pages viewed, browser type and IP address to understand how the site is used and to keep it working properly.
  • Fonts. The fonts on this site are served by Google, so your browser requests them from Google when a page loads.

Limiting cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings. Most browsers let you block third-party cookies, the kind advertising pixels use, while keeping the rest. You can still use this site if you do.

08How we protect it

We protect your information with safeguards that match how sensitive it is. Access is limited to the people who need it to do their work. The providers that hold contact records for us are responsible under contract for protecting them.

No way of storing or sending information is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. If a breach of your information creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the Privacy Commissioner as the law requires.

09How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as we need it for the purposes in section 03, and for as long as the law requires us to keep it. After that, we delete it.

If you contact us but do not become a client, you can ask us to delete your information at any time. See section 10.

10Your rights and how to exercise them

You can ask us to:

  • Show you the personal information we hold about you, how we have used it, and who we have shared it with.
  • Correct anything that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Stop using your information for a purpose you no longer agree to, by withdrawing your consent (section 04).
  • Delete your information. If you are not a client, we will delete it on request, keeping only the minimal record we need to honour an unsubscribe or a legal obligation. If you are a client, we will delete whatever the law or our agreement with you does not require us to keep.

To make a request, email our privacy officer (section 12). We may need to confirm your identity first. We will reply as quickly as we can, and within the time limits the law sets.

Complaints. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information or your request, tell our privacy officer first and we will look into it. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, where British Columbia’s PIPA applies, to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.

11Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.

12Contact

Questions, requests and complaints about privacy go to our privacy officer.
